Our “Community First” Impact Generation Model
Social Entrepreneur Corps utilizes an innovative, modified Logic Model Framework to design and implement its programs. The field work that the participants conduct within their projects is designed using the community based goals as the starting point. Once the community based goals are specified, then the participants goals, indicators of success, indicator measurement techniques and then and only then, the participant activities are decided upon. It is this “cascade” of decisions starting with community goals and ending with participants activities that is central to our model. In general participants engage in five categories of activities; needs analysis, feasibility analysis, project launch, support, expansion and evaluation. With certain projects there is a linear progression of these activities and with others the activities are highly integrated.
Needs analysis refers to participant investigations and recommendations about how to address community and organizational challenges. Feasibility analysis is conducted when the needs have been ascertained and a solution is ready to be designed. Project launch refers to the initial implementation of the project. Support is provided to assist entrepreneurs and organizations as they launch a new project and/or execute an ongoing project. Participants work on expansion to geographically replicate a project that is working. Evaluation is an ongoing process during every phase from needs analysis to expansion.
