Social Entrepreneur Corps

Impact: Overview

Overview
Over the years Social Entrepreneur Corps participants have been instrumental in the development and growth of our continuous development work. In fact, it was ONLY because we wanted to create an elegant mechanism to stimulate further community impact that we established Social Entrepreneur Corps in the first place. Our goals are certainly being achieved and in the process participant goals are realized as well. This is why Social Entrepreneur Corps works. The key to our success and to that the first question we ask ourselves when  designing our programs is always “How can we engage participants in a way that facilitates a  greater level of community impact?”. Our programs are 100% based on creating community impact. And what we have found is that participants, working with us for one week or several months, can help us to serve our rural clients much more effectively and efficiently. We are confident that it is because our programs are laser focused on achieving rather than doingthat everyone involved reaps tremendous benefits.

Using our “community first” approach to our work, participants have helped rural constituents in innumerable ways. For example, participants have helped  to vet water purification solutions, design entrepreneur marketing materials, assess the needs of a water cachment solution, design our energy efficient light bulb response, codify a mushroom growing business opportunity, redesign a rural tourism restaurant, launch a small business newspaper and create new programs for rural education initiatives. The list goes on and on.
